“I’ve curated 20 quotes as told by some pretty amazing business owners who’ve come to understand the importance of a targeted and well-executed social strategy.”

AUTHOR’S NOTE: It’s heartbreaking to see a company under utilizing the power of social media. However, nothing makes me more squeamish than a misguided strategy. What I mean by misguided is a strategy centered on self-promotion, neglecting the very people whose attention the business is vying for. If you treat people’s attention like the luxury it is – as opposed to your entitlement, then you will success in the online world.

Socialize your marketing strategy

The truth is, a lot of small and medium-sized business owners still haven’t made social media their priority. We’ve seen this firsthand. When time is thin, social media is a business activity that tends to suffer. Yes, I called it a business activity! Upon attending a local trade show last month, we were excited to connect with the businesses we met, but found that many of their once active social media feeds were abandoned altogether. (Que a crying outburst).

A large part of our social media strategy is to share nuggets of inspiration to our growing audience of entrepreneurs.  Some of the people who attend our marketing seminars at Invest Ottawa fill a seat because they struggle with marketing their business. We offer these seminars to help entrepreneurs shift their marketing mindset. Keeping in line with that, I’ve curated 20 quotes as told by some pretty amazing business owners who’ve come to understand the importance of a targeted and well-executed social strategy. If you happen to fall into the category of business owners I spoke about earlier who haven’t made time to come up with or execute a social media strategy, then these quotes should motivate you to do it.
